I've been trying to access Microsoft's email based tech support all night but apparently their server is down. I have an inexpensive off-brand cd burner and a Samsung DVD ROM drive, both of which worked just fine with AOM before my reformat. I did a "clean boot" as mentioned on the MS support site, I tried the game's safe modes, checked that I had the latest video drivers (ATI Radeon 7500, 64M RAM), I've done everything I can possibly think of (short of reformatting again, and uninstalling SP2) with no success. When I launch AOM I get the initial movie, then the screen where it says things are loading, and it just closes.
Everything installed fine and I downloaded/installed the latest updates. The only difference with software is XP SP2. I reformatted my computer a few months ago and just got around to reinstalling AOM + Titans. Plus, I'm not even sure I can play multiplayer with a cracked version. I don't like running the cracked version, I want to play multiplayer with my son and he has the Gold version & I don't think there is a crack yet. exe and that seems to work.ĭoes anyone know why the cracked version works and not the standard? I updated to version 1.10 and then downloaded the cracked. The ONLY thing that has worked is running a cracked version. But I've seen others with the same card that seem to have the game running.
When I installed it the last time I actually got an error message once that my video card was not supported.
I have done everything everyone suggested: I install Aom, when I try to run it, the intro screens display, and then the game crashes to the desktop with no error messages. I have the same problem that many others have reported on this forum.
